[muglo] Re: OS X (Jaguar) FREE for K-12 teachers

My e-mail was down for awhile so I don't know if this was already announced. If
there are teachers in the group that haven't already heard of this, there is a
valuable offer that you may want to take advantage of. Or, you might want to
share
this with your child or grandchild's teacher. I've heard of an entire school
district that asked each teacher to send for their personal copy through this
program.
----------------------------------------------

Apple computer company is making a FREE copy of their latest operating
system OS 10.2 Jaguar to any K-12 teacher in the United States (there is also a
Canadian program).

Teachers must provide their email address, and they must have it sent to their
school address.

The offer is good until the end of this year.

Use this address to find details:
http://www.apple.com/education/macosxforteachers/

Some of the program details from the web site:
From now through December 31, 2002, qualifying K-12 teachers can
order their free ìX for Teachers Kit,î which provides everything a
teacher needs to learn and become comfortable with Mac OS X
     including:

Getting Started with Mac OS X Training CD filled with practice
exercises, tips, and over 80 QuickTime movies

Mac OS X v10.2 (Jaguar) Install CD Set

           Telephone support for 90 days

           Manual and License Agreement

     Do I qualify?
To qualify for the ìX for Teachersî program you must be a K-12 teacher at a
recognized
school (Public, Private, Catholic, Bureau of Indian Affairs) and you must
agree to have
software delivered to your school address.

A separate X for Teachers Program is available for Canadian K-12 teachers as
well.

     How do I order?
To order your ìX for Teachers Kitî simply apply online - we'll ask a few
questions to
verify you and your school. The rest is automatic. Teachers should receive
the
ìX for
Teachers Kitî within a week or two of placing their order.

and so on...

May help someone, if they can afford all the other software upgrades.
