Hi Kathryn-Jane, if the links below don't work, point your browser to
<http://www.acrobat.com> and click on the "Downloads" link. There are two
downloads you should check out:

(1) version 5.05 (0.7 MB + 10 MB or more through the installer; OS 8.6-OS X)
<http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/mac/5.x/ar505enu.bin>

The first download is a mere 700 K .sit file, *but* you require an open
internet connection to install Acrobat Reader 5.0.5. The _minimum_ install
is 10 MB and will take you ~45-60 mins on a 56 K modem.

(2) version 4.05a (6 MB; runs in any PPC OS (7.5.x-OS X)
<http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/mac/4.x/ar405eng.bin>

The file is ~6 MB but you don't require a connection to the web to install
the application.

For all practical purposes the versions are equal. 5.05 is no more or less
stable than 4.05a (though 4.05a is *much* more stable than 5.0[.0]) and
doesn't offer any more [useful] features than 4.05a (in fact, if 4.05a was
OS X native I'd be using that version instead of 5.05).

(ow, my lips are slightly sunburnt... I managed to cover every exposed
square centimetre as skin with sun block, multiple times, to keep the sun's
rays at bay but forgot about the lips)
