[muglo] Re: New Apple Browser, Safari

Heh.. I went to a conference on the Xserve in Toronto just before the
holidays. During a break, one of the Apple sales drones and I were
talking. During our conversation I let it slip that I was a recent
switchee. He asked me why, and at this point I put my Inspiron 8200 on
the table next to my TiBook ans said flat out, look at the size of that
bloody thing. I used to carry it around all the time along with
accessories. It used to hurt my shoulder. He got his boss and we all had
a laugh.

I didn't get to do a commercial, nor did they give me an Xserve. Ah
well, I did successfully switch from a Netware environment at work to an
OSX Server / Xserve one.

I am pleased to see that Safari is working so well. I just wish I could
run our remote connection software back to our primary vendor. It is
unfortunately written to take advantage of MS Java, not the real deal.

I have been using Safari also and am completely enjoying it. It is
definitely faster than my IE and Netscape (of course). I've had a
little
problem with one of the pages being in "huge" print, but I adjusted it.
I
am in the banking industry and the online banking is fine as is the
employee
surveys that we do. Although I have Office:Mac X, I will probably get
the
"Keynote" presentation package. If it works as well as Safari, that
will be
an added bonus. I got my both my kids eMacs and, although my daughter
is
well entrenched in the Win XP world, she is thrilled with the Mac. If
they
won't "SWITCH" on their own, I'll do it for them!! :-)
