I agree with Paul. I'm not an expert on the Netiquette of discussion
threads, but it makes perfect sense to me that if the subject has
changed from one topic to another, it should be noted in the subject
line, and Paul's suggestion re the original thread in parenthesis at
the end should answer Bill's concern. Also, if someone was doing a
search in the MUGLO archives, the thread would be easier to find if
the new topic was indicated in the subject line.

This is my point:
Assuming a message is dealing with a problem on Netscape and a reply has a a
a solution but then goes on to talk about a similar or different Internet
Explorer problem. Then later someone else replies with a comment on the
Internet Explorer rather than the original Netscape query, then to my mind,
this is starting another thread which I do not happen to be interested in.
My point then is that I would rather know that I am on another thread; by
all means include something like Re: Internet Explorer (formerly Netscape)
initially to show the connection.
I hope this has cleared my thoughts rather than muddied them!!
