Hi Marilyn,

What Mac OS are you using, on what model of Mac? How do you connect 
to the internet? (internal or external dial-up modem? high-speed DSL? 
or what.)

Hmm, "opening"? Usually means launching the program, usually done by 
double clicking on the program's icon. You can open IE this way, 
right?
