I just realised you'd written this part. What's your experience been with
the Lacie? I'm not at all impressed by mine (not by speed... e.g. it's the
only old "new" burner not supported by OS X) and I've heard nothing but
horror stories from all over the web about the FireWire and SCSI Lacies.
Lacie is apparently notorious for building defective and/or incompatible
burners.
