[muglo] Keyboard Problem

I don't know if it is a S/W or H/W problem:

Sometimes when I am using the email program or Apple Works, when typing 
'c'  I just get a boom sound unless I hold the key down for a period of 
about a couple of seconds when it produces a 'c'  or more  exactly 
several of them thus  cccc which can then be deleted.  On the other 
hand upper case 'C' has no problem!!!

Any suggestions?
