Paul:
Toggle to "move it to Junk" (the automatic mode) and then just do a
quick pass through each day/download (depending on your volume of junk)
and use the "not junk key". I've found that this works very well for
me.
I too, recently started using the MacMail program and it seems OK and I
get less complaints from other Mac users about the screwed up
characters in Entourage, but a few things drive me nuts about it...
1. Although I got the Junk folder set to empty on close (and the waste
too of course), I find that each time I relaunch Mail, it remembers the
last count of Junk and add-in any new Junk: for example, on my first
pass this morning I had 186 Junk Messages and after going through my
mail and then closing, and now that i've opened Mail for the second
time and downloaded messages, Mail reports 191 in Junk, then when I
click on Junk the number changes to 5 Junk! Anyone else bothered by
this or have a fix for it?
2. Unlike most members here, I prefer to reply to messages BEFORE the
original text (so I have the latest comments on top rather than having
to scroll through an entire conversation) and separate my comments with
a horizontal rule rather than the default, coloured vertical rule. does
anyone have a fix for that?
3. Attachements! It seems I can either have attachments as either
suitable for the PC World or for other Apple users, but not both! This
alone forces me to continue with Entourage at least for business
purposes. Anyone found any answers for this?
So far, MacMail is a big winner on junk filtering and ease of use while
Entourage is for me far superior at attachments, look and feel and way,
way better at mailing lists and account(s) maintenance. Eudora?
Forgettaboutit!: If I wanted Outlook Express, I'd use it instead.

I am using the Mac Mail in OS X. I do not seem to have a Junk mail Box
- should one have one and be able to see it? If I try to GO TO Junk
mailbox it is greyed out? I can set up Junk Mail rules which colours
the entry - this is in Training Mode. In summary it seems I can have
it marked and then delete it manually - does anyone know if this is
correct or should I be doing something else?
