Teresa:

Do you have call answer? If so try switching it off (or emptying your 
messages) it before trying... those little beeps you get when you lift 
the phone to tell you that you have messages waiting, stop the modem 
from working as there are "looking" for a solid dial tone and won't 
recognize anything else.

have never been happier.
