It should not matter who your isp is at home all that I know of let you
pick up your mail wether you are connected via their service or
another. Also most isps will offer web-mail were you can access your
mail account from any computer without setting up a mail application.
I travel with a 12" power book and have never been questioned at the
border about it. If you were worried you could always scan your
receipt and save it as PDF on your desk top to show them.
