[muglo] Re: Instant Music

Hi Ilbert

According to our Constitution, I believe, without looking at it any
member or members my form a SIG and then publish it on the web site and
by a message to the list giving Location, dates & times (assuming it is
to be an ongoing group); this will probably mean having one person to
organise things. I remember shortly after we gave up regular meetings
(seems a long time ago now!!!) attempting to offer a SIG on HTML
through the internet by preparing a number of pages to walk through the
HTML language and HTML Editors. After the third page I did a quick
survey to find out the interest - from memory i think I got 2
enthusiastic members who wanted to learn, but I didn't consider it
worth the effort for so few and gave it up!! Just before you form a
SIG you might poll the membership (through this List) to see how much
support there is? Of course if there isn't much, you could consider
instead running just one meeting. In fact, if you carry out a survey,
you could ask the members if they would like to form an ongoing SIG or
just have one meeting - perhaps as part of a general meeting?

Just ideas for you Ilbert and others and thanks for at least promoting
the idea of SIGs - the last one listed was my HTML one!!
