[muglo] GIMP

Has anyone used GIMP on OSX?

I have been told it was good and downloaded it.  When I tried it 
informed me that I had to use X11 found in the Optional Installs 
package on the Instal disk; I only found a "BDS Subsystem" and assumed 
that this included X11.  I installed this BDS and ran GIMP only to get 
a message "GIMP requires X11 available from ....." I did a search for 
X11 which did not show up but I guessed was buried in BDS!!!

Can anyone help in this situation?
