[muglo] Re: Fwd: Mac will run Windows

LOL! thanks for the correction Eric, but I typed what I meant to
type - viri. I don't care what is on the 'pedia because all that
info is posted by users and must be take with a grain of salt.
The important thing to remember in all this, is that IT IS AN
OPTION! The owners of Intel based Mac's now have another OPTION. No
one is making, coercing or forcing this onto anyone, that I've
heard. I'm hoping that just like the announcement drove up Apple
stocks, this OPTION will drive sales of hardware into markets that
Apple has been floundering. Imagine being able to tell a PC user
that they don't have to leave all their expensive software behind
when purchasing a new Mac! And they get better hardware, OS X, and
all the other bundled software that comes with a new Mac. Why would
the average Winblows user not like this offer?

The best thing about a Windoze install on a Mac getting hosed by viri
is that it still won't touch the OS X partition, and the machine will
still boot into OS X just fine. Makes Windoze look bad, yet again.
As far as I've read, the Mac partition is not write accessible to the
Windoze OS when booted from the Windoze partition. Not always true
when dealing with a virtual machine. Any one silly enough to be
logged into their OS X machine as an administrator on a daily basis
is asking for trouble. It is too bad that this is the default
configuration. From my experience, most Mac users are oblivious to
security and safe computing practices, but that is a different topic...
