[muglo] Re: Firewire Transfer of Files

Many thanks, Eric, for your pretty exhaustive list of options to transfer files
between a 6400 and an eMac.
It will keep me busy for some time exploring and deciding which to use.

A couple of reasons: (1) To enable transfer of video from a digital camcorder
(Firewire), and (2) to use a USB based printer and scanner. I could not find
drivers supported by MacOS 8 or 9 for my Abaton colour scanner (currently
connected to an original LC with MacOS 7.5.5).

Hmmm, I wonder? My son does work for a Mac-based graphics firm.

One PCI slot is filled by the OrangeLink card and the other by the Avid Cinema
video capture card (which came installed with the 6400/200). But, of course,
with the eMac this becomes redundant and obsolete and could be removed and the
ethernet card installed. Looks like the answer!

Perhaps an even better solution - cheap, too!! I'll for sure give this one a
try.
