[muglo] Downloading pdf file

Dear Muglo Folks:

I spoke too soon. I'm having another problem, this time printing a pdf
file.

I started to print it out yesterday, but did a print cancel after nine
pages as I did not have enough time to wait to print the whole document,
which is 67 pages and 665k.

When I tried to print it out again, but just pages 9 to 67, this is what
happened: the system would sort of freeze; I could move the mouse but
not click on anything; and a grey blank rectangle appeared at the top of
the screen - and then nothing.

I wouldn't get any of the messages that the page was being captured or
being printed - nada.

The first three times this happened I would use the force quit
keystroke to shut down the computer, and when I would turn it on again,
I would get one of those confusing messages to the effect that the spool
data file was being put in the trash because it was damaged.

When I emptied the trash I'd get the message that it contained 1.9k, and
when I looked at what was in the file it would show several icons with
the Adobe Acrobat Reader symbol on them.

I have SystemWorks which repairs stuff autmoatically when you turn it
on, and checks my files, and I never got a message that I had a virus or
any other problem.

Today I thought I would just wait and not shut the computer down when
everything semi-froze; this time I got the message that "Desired
operation cannot be performed on this object."

I have printed out documents before that were at least 60 pages, so I
don't think memory is a problem, and the fact that I was able to start
printing yesterday without any difficulty, except that it was really
slow, makes me wonder if it had something to do with the fact that I did
cancel print. Or is the fault on the website?

Anyway, muglo-ites, I'd appreciate your help once again.

Cheers,

Kathryn
