Does anyone have any ideas about how to get into a .docx?

I'm putting together a cookbook for a non profit group and two of the 
recipes are in a .docx format. The message tells me to upgrade to 
10.4.9 and then get a converter. I don't feel like doing this for two 
recipes.

Is there anything else that will open this? I already tried renaming it 
.doc and that didn't work.
