Kathryn:
On the following hotlink, I found this solution:
http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?14@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@.6897f001
This process just worked for me !
In a "new message" window I wrote "frogg" and spell checked it since
it showed as misspelled. I then intentionally clicked learn and the
dictionary did learn it. The next time I spelled "frogg" no spelling
error occurred.
To unlearn it, I typed "froggg" in the window and a spell check error
occurred. In the Lower Portion of the Spell Check window "froggg"
appears. I highlighted it and "deleted the last "g" leaving "frogg"
in that window and selected "Forget"
Lo and behold the next time I typed "frogg" in the window a spelling
error occurred. Apparently the dictionary had "Forgotten frogg" !
