So using Sherlock (I assume you're running at least OS 8.6) did not find
'Background Image' yet this Retrieve It did? Bizarre! It could for some
reason be an invisible file. In Sherlock you can find invisibles (in 8.6 by
holding down option when you select advanced, and in 9+ by going into
advanced search and selecting the find invisibles option). Also, if you do a
get info on the folder that contains the 'Background Picture' file as found
by Retrieve It you will see how many files it contains. (why it would be
invisible is beyond me though).
PS Paul, could you send me the picture as an attachment directly (not to the
mailing list as it'll bounce) (I'm curious to see if I recognise it).
Did you install an app that randomly changes the background picture? (there
are a few out there). If you create a picture with command-shift-3 you
should be able to chose that picture as your background. Can you do that?
Also, if you have any JPEG files (any image copied from a web page is likely
to be either a JPEG or a GIF).
Eric.
