That particular virus is a Windoze-only virus. I can't think of the last
time there was a *legitimate* Mac virus scare. You can ignore _all_ warnings
of computer viruses as they're invariably for Windows computers. The only
time I've seen a Mac virus checker catch a virus is if it was a Windows
virus :) :) :) :)

But, having Norton Systemworks is worth your while.

Restart your computer after you select it as a start-up disk (or, hold down
the C key at boot time) (you'll need a PPC)

<chuckle>

Run Norton Disk Doctor first. If it gives your HD a clean bill of health you
can defrag (not really necessary on larger HDs (>2 GB) which have at least
25% free).

PS Run Apple's Disk First Aid before you run Norton. DFA does a good job of
catching gross errors and NDD fixes the little ones.

PS II Back up your HD before defragging if you have the media on which to do
it (as I wrote a few days ago, CD-RW drives are cheap now and the media is
even cheaper, even in SCSI incarnations). I've never had a defrag fail on me
but it's worth having a back-up anyway.

Eric.
