Hmm, well, video files downloaded from the 'net could be in a variety
of formats. QuickTime can handle some of them but not all. Other
media players might have to be used, instead.
In general, to set the app to use to open a certain filetype, one
would select the item and then go to File/Get Info/Open With. There
you will find an area to choose which app to use for that item. (And
all similar items, if you so choose.)
