[muglo] Re: Confidentially, it's cr*p

Doug,
I had occasion to buy Norton AV 10.0 for Mac the other day
through one of our local distributors, of course, at a premium. I did
this only because I attempted to buy the download twice and it
wouldn't go through. From listening to your experience, I am glad I
had a CD in my hand and didn't go Norton confidential. Anyway, I had
to go buy AV 10.0 because some brilliant student of mine infected me
with the W97M. thus A virus through a word file. This file, while
relatively harmless for macs, does the old Dec 13 wipe on Windoze
hard drives. So basically, we become carriers. So, I go down to my
local distributor and tell the young person that I have a virus and
he says "on a mac?" This does not inspire confidence. However, I
brought home the AV 10.0 and 8 hours of file scrubbing later, I am
virus free, hopefully. So, while I sympathize with your misery with
the online monstrosity, FTF is not always preferable. At least not in
London. Enjoy your Bushmills and remember that tomorrow is another day.
Best wishes,
Joe Nolan
