[muglo] Chooser/Appleshare crash

Hi all
Am having trouble accessing my idisk area in the new .mac environment
which replaced itools.
It used to be that one could access idisk from the itools web page. No
longer. Since I'm using Mac OS 9.0.4 I must use the Chooser and
Appleshare. Clicking on Appleshare (in the Chooser window) brings up a
button "Server IP Address ...". Clicking on that brings up a box where I
enter "idisk.mac.com". However, when I click on the "Connect" button,
the Chooser crashes (Type 3 error). Every time!
I've tried turning off various combinations of Extensions, thinking
there may be an extension conflict. No luck, so far.

Questions:

1. Is it necessary to have Appletalk activated? I've tried that, but it
crashes too (Type 2 error). Anyway since I'm not on a local network I
don't see that Appletalk is required.

2. My internet connection is dialup, using OT/PPP. Can anyone suggest a
minimum configuration (extensions, control panels) to ensure an internet
connection? I'd then turn off all others.

3. I've tried an ftp connection using Fetch, but no luck there either.

4. Any suggestions at all would be welcome.

I don't want to re-install my system which I just had to do a couple of
weeks ago when I had other problems.

Bob
