Are digital SLRs (replaceable lenses) really worth the expense yet? You can
get some very impressive cameras with good optics for less than the price of
a digital SLR which has (comparatively) a pretty basic lens. It seems right
now digital SLRs are really only worth it for the very serious amateur who's
willing to sink a lot of money into lenses.

The one thing I'd like to get is a digicam that allows you to zoom with a
twist of the hand rather than with the (slow (The Minolta Z1 was _very_ fast
though) and battery consuming) camera's motor (are there any non-SLRs that
do that... of course, since I've already destroyed one camera I'm hesitant
to invest a lot in another one).

Eric.
