[muglo] CD/DVD Reader

Until now I have had no problem with my CD/DVD reader on my eMac.  For 
some reason this evening it does not seem to read DVDs only CDs.  I can 
put in a CD which appears as normal on the desktop to be opened or a 
blank will ask me what to do - all perfectly normal! When I put in a 
DVD sometimes it will show up on the desk top and play on the DVD 
Player programme and then stop with an error reading the disc; 
otherwise it does not appear on the desktop?? If I put in a blank DVD 
disc, after a long time (say a minute or so) it then just ejects 
without any dialogue; I do not have a DVD burner so maybe this latter 
operation is normal!  This seems to work for a short time after a 
Restart!

I did play some discs which are a copy of some region 2 discs though 
these gave no proplem until tonight when they would not work either! 
However I am not sure what these discs are now as they appear to be 
region 1 as they play in a standard (region 1) DVD player!

I have looked in the preferences but cannot find anything to help!  I 
am running OS X (1o.3.9).

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
