[muglo] Re: Burner problems

Thought some of you would be interested in the solution to my burner 
problem. We tried the CD/Rom and burner separately, ie: power unplugged; 
and they worked, but System Profiler did not list their makes etc. We 
could not get them to work together. After 1.5 hours of various 
combinations we tried a different ATA cable & the problem was solved.
The cause was probably my installation of additional memory just before 
installing O/S X. The ATA cable was routed under the board and Terry 
believes it probably shorted out, hence the intermittent workings of the 
CDs.
BTW my replacement CD burner arrived today, a Lucent 48 x 12 x 48 (IDE). 
Anyone want it? make me a reasonable offer.
Also my next door neighbour has an All-in-one G3 for sale. includes an 
external Zip. $425 or offers. He is buying a G4 grey/white from Terry.
