Sorry Gerhard, just re-read your post and noticed the word "used" in
the description. Unfortunately either of the most likely suspect parts
(logic board or LCD) would be overly expensive to replace. Most of the
time this problem is caused by the LCD so, as you mentioned, it should
not affect the computer itself and you may be able to continue to use
it. If the LCD does eventually pack it in you may be able to connect
the iMac to an external monitor and continue to use it as well. Either
way, let us know the results of the external monitor test if you get a
chance to test it.
