Hi Gerhard,
To verify whether it is a problem with the LCD or the on-board video
connect a monitor to the display port with an adapter. If you don't
see a line on the external monitor than the problem is likely with the
LCD. If you do see a line on the External monitor then the problem is
likely with the on-board video. Either way, you said you bought it
earlier this year so it is under warranty, and this problem does not
necessarily indicate abuse. Get it in to a service provider to get
looked at.
