[muglo] Bell from Hell ?

Here's a heads-up in case you experience similar problems with HDSL  
connection which I reported here in the past months.  Constant  
'hanging ' , delays or simply being taken off line without warning!
Even buying a router didn't improve things.

My ISP subsequently discovered that Bell, in trying to stay  
competitive with Rogers, had changed their DSLAM configuration  
(whatever that means) at Dufferin HQ without warning , and a new  
higher power modem was now required to cope with the change. My  
previous one was less than a year old.

That's now been done, and all the weeks of frustrating phone calls,  
visits from Bell reps, concern about the building structure I live  
in, phoning Mac Outpost, changing my Mac's Preferences, rebooting the  
G5 etc - thinking it was my problem - are now over ( I hope!)

Even if you switch to Rogers - you will probably still be stuck with  
Bell copper cables ?

Dear Ol' Ma Bell - what price monopolies ?!

Forget Pogo's famous dictum - You may NOT be the problem !    But  
have now been warned !
