[muglo] Audio CD Player

Since I upgraded to OS 8.6 on my Performa 5260 I am un able to set the
volume at start up!!  Before, whenever I set the volume to a low value
before shutting down it would start up next time at the same value;  now
when I start up again it always starts up with the volume about half way -
much too loud!!!  I have checked the preferences - nothing there.  I tried
trashing the preference file but it created a new one with the same value!!
I looked for a control panel but nothing there!!  The only solution would
appear to be to take out the CD before shutting down - but I am sure that
there is a better wat!!??
