Hi David,
    The last image made is retained by the scanner software & the
scanner, with Astra it will probably be in the "VistaScan" folder on
your hard drive, or whatever you use for scanning software.

    Not quite sure what you mean by "scan with something different", if
you change computers & use the same scanner, the image last used will
still be there until you tell it to "Preview", which will negate that
saved image.
