For anyone out there using Addressbook 3.1.2 (v321) or AppleMail 1.3.8
(v618) under Panther
Addressbook - Rest, if you must - but do NOT quit ! ? ( Kipling's IF -
in case you forgot! :-) )
I made the mistake of using the Quit Addressbook menu option to
discover I couldn't easily get it remounted in the dock. It was
nowhere to be found in the Applications Folder - and did't
automatically reinstall after a Restart! (as I thought it might have
down as being integrated into OS X
Luckily , I had previously at some time made an archive file ( using
Backup Databse under File menu) - and by using this managed to get AdBk
back onto the desktop.
Strange ? Where did I go wrong ?
Tip - Make regular AdBk Database archival backups
AppleMail - A mind of its own ?
When using Apple Mail's options to select which columns to include
under the View Menu - I found them very unstable, constantly 'losing'
To or From - after having selected these earlier/ Quirky ?
Thoughts anyone ? - other than reporting into Apple ?! Good luck :-(
Ilbert
