[muglo] Apple's Mail

I am having difficulty with Apple's Mail app, installed as part of OS 
10.2.

I click 'Get Mail'; I receive a batch of mail; and when I check for 
mail an hour later, I get the same batch delivered again.

Something is kinky with my preference settings. What am doing wrong?
