[muglo] Re: Apple ROM DVD drive?

Wayne, thanks - i can use that.  It's for a hackintosh project and people have
reported differing results depending on the drive. It may be the external usb
unit but it says compatible with mac os 8.6 - 9.2 and osx. I certainly don't
want to take apart the mini or G5 to pull the drive! The target is the dell
mini 9 which has basically the same hardware as the first macbooks. Rather than
wait for apple i'm building a mac netbook.
I've tried other drives that should work but osx crashes when i boot it from
the optical disc so was going to try an apple rom drive. I've already
partitioned the SSD as a mac file system.

Right now i'm cloning the 10.5 retail dvd to a usb - when done i try booting
from that.

cheers
gord
