[muglo] Re: Alerts

Hi, what version of the OS are you running? In OS X 10.3 I managed to do 
exactly what you wanted from within the Sound preferences pane. Alert volume 
at the minimum (off) and Output volume at max (just to make sure I could 
hear if alerts sounded). I also have "Play user interface sound effects" off 
all the time (may make a difference).

If you are bothered by non-system related noises the only way to turn them 
off is through the individual apps.
