HP drivers were released as part of the OS with 10.5, so driver updates come
via a software update for the OS. Try adding a new printer in the Printers
system preference for this printer and see if any of the features are different
for that new one. You can always delete the printer later if needed.

Not sure why some color prints in B&W now and some in a rude-looking greenish
grey. I select last preset used so it is the same each time.
I played around in Color Sync Utility and found a B&W profile in there but
cannot seem to access it from the print dialogue.
