If it's just Windows Media Player specific, I've had problems blue
screening because my Firewall was blocking WMP from accessing the 'Net
during an update check. If you are running a Software firewall it might
be worth disabling it to see if it helps.
And there you have my 2 cents worth.

Subject: [mswindowsxp] HELP

Hi, I was just wondering if there is a site or something that tells what
a
.sys or .dll does so I can try to figure out why my computer hates me
and
wants to keep Blue screenin on me!!!
*here are a few of the files that I can remember that it says has caused
it
to BSOD on me, win32k.sys, portcls.sys, mouclass.sys
and all I'm really running when it happens is either media player, or
winamp
and msn messenger....

Also, why would Media Player *the one that comes with XP, and Mplayer2*
want
to cause XP to crash on me as well? Whenever I use realone player, it's

fine, but if I use media player at all, it'll crash.
Should I upgrade to media player 9?

I've had xp since like it came out, and everything was fine till just
recently, I reformatted hoping things would be go back to normal, but
nope,
i'm still cursed! :P
Also i've installed the sp1 update, but that doesn't seem to really have

helped anything, it'll still crash on me or whatnot like it did before
the
sp1 update.

Thx for any help anyone can give me!!
