When you double-clicked it was probably in the Word dialogue that appeared
when you chose Insert-picture. When you just open 'My pictures' and double
click, Windows has no idea you want to do anything other than look at he
picture, so it displays it for you in the viewer. I'd be surprised if it had
acted differnetly on Saturday!

Subject: [mso] word-pictures-pasting
I have been putting pictures on to my monthly newsletter .They have been
stored in "my pictures". When i want to insert a pic onto the word document
that i use all the time, The pics which i used to double click on would move
over onto the document, but now all they do is open up onto my screen and if
i move them over through the drag process they do not stay in the "my
pictures" page.I'm using xp pro and office 2003. Worked fine on Saturday and
not now on Sunday........any suggestions....thx.......bill
