May I suggest you investigate a great utility called NoteTab?  It is a LOT
more than just a replacement for NotePad, and it has a time-unlimited free
version called NoteTab Lite.  The full Pro version, however, is only $20.

Jody Adair ( AV1611@xxxxxxxxxxxxx  ) maintains several very active Yahoo
groups that are full of useful advice for users.

I have absolutely no connection to the NoteTab people  --  I'm just a very
satisfied user.
