I don't have the answer to your question Errol but if this student has any
speed to the typing, the caps lock beeping might be distracting.
I also do touch typing and seldom look at the screen. The caps lock is
always a problem but having a beeping caps lock key might be distracting.
I've learned to not worry about it since Word formatting can be used to
change the case of the fonts easily enough afterwards.
Back in the day, touch typists HAD to worry about those things because
typewriters didn't have the awesome correction abilities we have today.
Don't put any pressure on your student about the caps lock...encourage her
to concentrate on speed and accuracy and let the tools in the software do
the rest.

Is there any way of making the keyboard "beep" if one has caps lock engag=
ed. I have a pupil who does touch typing but often inadvertantly has the
caps lock engaged. To prevent her typing a whole letter in capitals could
Word= be programmed to have a sound made every time a capital letter is
pressed?=0D Errol
