I did run spybot... But it didn't find anything... I did an update and ran
it again... Very strange... I have a firewall on the "modem" and run trend
micro 3 times a day... I don't run spybot as often... Good point... I'll
set a daily reminder for that I guess...

I would just DIE if someone hacked my machine... I have lots of SSN's... I
try to do everything I can to protect... Its sad we even have to...

Well...I HOPE you also did a good spyware scan cos' it may have been
someone loading your system with spyware to track your keystrokes for
identity thief! Or sucking off your files!

Spyware is MUCH MORE common than viruses these days!

From what you say it sounds like you've just got another program running
somewhere.

If there's nothing minimised in your Task Bar, then check Task Manager
(Alt-Ctrl-Del) to see what that shows running at the Applcations tab.

Another problem I'm having today is when I'm writing in Word, the blue
application bar at the top goes gray and I have had to click... it is like
my computer is switching to another window and I have to click about every
10 seconds... 
 
yes... I ran a virus check... mine does a check 3 times a day, but I did a
manual one as well... no viruses...  
 
Any ideas?
