* Do you have a firewall running all the time?
* Do you have antivirus running all the time?
* Do you have antispyware funning all the time?

If so, have you run a full scan of your HD with your antivirus/antispyware
apps?

With all your problems, it may be that you are infected with something that
is causing all these problems.

I have using WORD as my email editor. This is what i want to do.
I am not worried that I am getting an error that refers to something that is
untrue, i am getting an error that refers to something that is tre. I set my
email editor to be WORD, but, voila, when i get an error message that word
is unavailble(either it is not installed, or is not the correct version)
neither of these is true. I DO have it installed, and it IS the ocrrect
version.
When I go to word itself, it tells me that the wpord is not registered blahb
lah...when i open up word documents that I made pre-mess, i cannot clock on
the links and have them do anything.

When I click on access, i get a major run-a round.
I have detected andrepaired both outlook and word several or more times.
I have uninstalledand reinstialled OFFICE twice.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the u pdates.

i am unable to use word as my email editor and I want to use word as my
email editor.
If i didn;t want to use word as my email editor, i would have unchecked it
and not gotten the error message. The reason that i haveit checked is
because i WANT TO USE word.......lol....llit is seeming to be impossible
without a full wipe of the opeerating system.
I am more than frustrated at this point.

TRY THIS

A few things you can check - in OUTLOOK, you have the option of using WORD
as your email editor, or Outlook itself. From what it sounds like, you may
have it set to the first one. Start OUTLOOK, and goto TOOLS => OPTIONS =>
MAIL FORMAT and uncheck "Use Microsoft Word as your email editor". See if
that makes a difference.

also do you have Symantec installed??

See the Microsoft Knowledge Base articles, You cannot use Word as your
e-mail editor when Symantec Norton AntiVirus is installed on your computer
and Outlook/WordMail Tries to Use Word Viewer as Editor.

Try this. Open My Computer and go to Tools > Folder Options and click on the
File Types tab. Click on (NONE) URL:MailTo Protocol > Advanced. Make sure
that open is selected and click on Edit. Where it say's "Application used to
perform action" paste the below string.

C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1"

and click OK. Reboot and let us know if this helped.

Last suggestion edit HotKeys

upgrading; however, a file-level view of the Outlook folder in C:\\Program
Files may indicate an "Office 10" and an "OFFICE 11," so assuming that it
was upgraded at some point (I don't recall specifically simply because XP
routinely asks me to upgrade MS programs on my computer!). However, the
registry edit link you provided does not include deletion instructions for
Office 10, only 8 and 9.

Update: OK, this is getting very not-funny. I did everything it said,
including the necessary backups. I deleted the Office/8 and Office/9 keys in
LOCAL MACHINE and CURRENT USER. I did a reboot and fired up Outlook again.
Same problem.

Alternatively do a restore point to a date prior when your systerm worked ok

Hope these help

Mike
