I for one think we had a healthy discussion. I saw a couple of new dimensions to the issue. It's a discussion that ought to go wider, too. In the meantime, you don't need any third party tool to email .exe files, because Win XP already comes with the answer in its built-in support for file compression. Just Zip any prohibited file before emailing it, and it will go through without complaint. Of course, you might want to check what's in any Zip archive someone sends you... It seems to have gone way overboard (or has it?). All I was complaining about was the fact that any software producer prohibits activities that I think they should allow AT LEAST a work-around. If they want to block exe files, and some people want it, fine. But at least have the decency to have a way one can get out of this set up, built in to the program, not make the user look for third party vendors to provide a solution. That's my two cents worth and I'm sorry tempers flared on what I think is a legitimate request from Microsoft (or anybody).
