Thanks for your interest. I am making a more detailed examination of the
problem so I can more accurately elaborate on the problem.
The main problem posed to me by pupils was their inability to alter the
size of titles given in charts. I also couldn't help them out on this one
which meant that if the title given in a chart was longer than the text box
all the text was not readable. This only happens where there is Excel 97 on
Windows XP OS.
As I said I'll get back with a more detailed report.
Errol
I guess I missed the original question.
I have Office 97 on my Windows XP machine here at home (along with every
other version!); no significant issues.
Data labels, chart title boxes, axis titles--all those things you can add to
a chart using Chart/Chart Options--aren't adjustable in Excel charts in any
version that I'm aware. If you turn on the drawing toolbar
(View/Toolbars/Drawing) and use the textbox command there, though, those
textboxes are adjustable.
If you're seeing other problems, please give us examples. Maybe we can tell
you if that's expected behavior or if it points to a damaged installation or
missing features or something like that.
