Like I said, you have to hold your left mouse button down and drag across
the text to highlight it all first....THEN you can copy it
Copy isn't available until you've "selected" something.
If you want to copy the whole email, just click inside it and hit ctrl+a
That will select it all, then you can copy it

Thanks for your help, Linda, trying to get my email into Word. Now:
following your directions, I click on the Edit menu inside the email and
select Copy -- BUT Copy is shaded light and gives no response to a click.
(CUT and PASTE are shaded, too, in the email's EDIT menu).
This is all very basic, I know - but how do I un-shade it? Can you
