Hi all,
I'm new to this group, so bear with me.
I have this question: I'm trying to make a table of contents in a rather
extensive paper a friend of mine made.
I used the MS OFFICE HELP to make it:
"Use the Mark Table of Contents box to insert TOC fields (field: A set of
codes that instructs Microsoft Word to insert text, graphics, page numbers,
and other material into a document automatically. For example, the DATE
field inserts the current date.) into your document.
Select the first portion of text that you want to include in your table of
contents.
Press ALT+SHIFT+O.
In the Level box, select the level and click Mark.
To mark additional entries, select the text, click in the Entry box, and
click Mark. When you have finished adding entries, click Close.
Click where you want to insert the table of contents.
On the Insert menu, point to Reference, and click Index and Tables.
Click the Table of Contents tab.
Click the Options button.
In the Table of Contents Options box, select the Table entry fields check
box.
Clear the Styles and Outline levels check boxes."
However, now I want to adapt the headings (f.i. heading 2 is italic and I
would like it bold and normal.
Also, on heading 2 sometimes the page nr. is not aligned to the right and
the tab leader is gone.
How can I edit this TOC? When I manually change things, they all go back to
the older state once I update the field...
Sincerely,
Winny Tirmarche
