[mso] .doc files

Hi Group.
 

I experience additional files when I close Word. These are: ~$ (then the
file name ending with) .doc This is saved along with the document I have
just produced and I eventually have literally lots of these unwanted files
in amongst the listings.

 

How can I avoid these (if not being created in the first place), being saved
at closure?
