[mso] Re: converting wpd files to word doc files.

WPD is associated with Microsoft Works. There are 2 versions and even with
both versions of converter installed, you may need to select which version
you want. If you select the wrong version to convert from, all you will get
is un recognizable characters on the screen. Esc and try a different
version.
http://filext.com/ lists wps as Microsoft Works. Also identifies almost all
extensions with a likely program association.
Then go search for converters at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/

There are converters that are packed with MS Word but not necessarily
loaded when you loaded Word onto your computer. And there are more
converters available for download from Microsoft.

Even if you have a WordPerfect converter installed, it may not be equipped
to convert that particular version of WordPerfect to your particular
version of Word. Simplest thing to do is to ask the sender which version
of WordPerfect he or she is using, so you know what you're looking for.
Then go search for converters at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/.

I received a text file via email with the extension .wpd. I am assuming it

is a Word Perfect file and MS Word does not like it. Is there a utility
out
there that will convert it to a Word format?

Paul
