In Word 2000, from the top menu choose Insert --> Symbol.  Choose the "(normal
text)" font.  Then choose the "Letterlike Symbols" subset.   For me "c/o"
appeared in the 5th column in the 2nd row.
"c/o" is also in practically all of the listed font sets (such as Arial and
Times New Roman) under the Letterlike Symbols subset in that font set.

This way you are using a Word font set and character.

I don't see a symbol for "c/o" in the symbols list. My college
Word
book says to make that symbol, I should press
2105, highlight "2105" and press Alt-x. It says the "c/o"
symbol will
then take the place of "2105." It does not, at least, not for me. I
am using Word 2000.

I can make the "c/o" symbol by using c/o, but I would prefer a more
proper-looking one. Can anyone tell me how to make that symbol please?

Thank you.
