Thanks for the suggestions. But, I only mentioned my problem with my laptop
in case the person with the original problem in Word had a similar problem
to mine, because I suspect the problem may be mouse related and not Word
related. Though she still hasn't answered my question as to whether it's
also happening in other programs. ... And if the problem is the mouse and
not Word, then this discussion is really off topic for this group.
I don't believe my problem is Word. I believe you all are right and it has
something to do with my mouse ... However, I don't have a touchstick .. I
have a touch pad, and there doesn't seem to be anywhere in my Control Panel
to disable that.
But, that's really not a problem for this group. I'll check a Windows group
and see if anyone in there can help me with that.
For THIS group .... Let's keep our replies to those that deal with Word and
not Windows or hardware. Thanks.

Hi Linda,
A customer previously reported a similar problem at our helpdesk, where
the cursor would do crazy things in particular when typing. His PC was
also a laptop. Usually erratic mouse movement is either caused by the
Pointing Stick or the Palmrest.=20
