[mso] Re: case of the missing cursor

Next time you're typing and nothing's happening, look at the screen before
you try the click. Is the bar at the top of the window the bright colour
(indicating the window has focus) or the light colour (indicating something
else has taken the focus)?

My suspicion is that something else is popping up momentarily and grabbing
the focus, then going away and leaving the focus indeterminate,

Does it happen when nothing else is running in the machine? Are there any
scheduled events in the machine that might be running frequently? Are there
any resident programs (e.g. chat) that might be grabbing the machine for a
moment?

Also: what version of Word? What operating system?

Regards, Dave S
